Before beginning formation at the Beda, many seminarians undertake a Propaedeutic Stage. This stage is dedicated to spiritual renewal, discernment, and human formation, preparing candidates to enter fully into priestly formation.

Continuing academic formation alongside growing pastoral responsibility, developing judgement, stability, and readiness for ministry within diocesan life.
Formation increasingly focuses on pastoral readiness, ecclesial identity, and integration of study, prayer, and pastoral experience within priestly life.
Final preparation for diaconate, strengthening pastoral leadership, spiritual maturity, and readiness for return to diocesan ministry.
Diaconal Ministry continues in the home diocese with support from the seminary and contact with the year cohort. This final stage brings together in the 'live' context of the home diocese all that has been learned and experienced in formation.
