The Beda College hosts vespers and supper
Last week we hosted 33 jubilarians for vespers and supper - priests (including a cardinal and three bishops) celebrating 40, 50 and 60 years of priesthood.

Last week we hosted 33 jubilarians for vespers and supper - priests (including a cardinal and three bishops) celebrating 40, 50 and 60 years of priesthood. When added together all those ruby, golden and diamond years add up to 1600! Truly to be honoured. Our seminarians, being formed also for the long haul, were encouraged by their witness of faith and joy. It’s said that each priest will affect the lives of 10,000 souls in his whole ministry. Well, these men must have had an influenced over 330,000 lives for the sake of the Kingdom of God. Deo Gratias!

Canon Marcus Holden meets Holy Father

Father Rector meets Holy Father Pope Leo - Canon Marcus met the Holy Father at Castel Gandolfo last month. Pope Leo wished us a happy feast day for St Bede! The Rector pointed out that his illustrious predecessor, Leo XIII, had given the name ‘Beda’ to us. He said that we felt a particular closeness to him and fondness for him. The Rector ask said that we are looking forward to welcoming him to the Beda before too long.
