Nine students were ordained deacon at St Paul's Basilica on Wednesday 15th June by Archbishop Malcolm McMahon of Liverpool. In his homily the Archbishop spoke of Christ the Servant and and told the men to be ordained that from now on they live to serve. "Todays is not about you.", said the Archbishop, Your service of the poor must only result in God's greater glory, not yours." Two other bishops, two abbots and about forty priests concelebrated the Mass. About 250 friends and family of those ordained enjoyed a superb buffet feast in the sunshine of the Beda garden afterwards. The list of those ordained and the dioceses from which they come are elsewhere on this site.
The final event of the academic year was the meeting on 8th June to approve the marks and grades which students had attained. This was attended by Dr Tarcisius Mukuka, the Moderator from St Mary's University, Twickenham. The External Examiner, Dr Clare Watkins was also present for the meeting.
