On Saturday 20 January 2024 the Beda celebrated its annual Ecumenical Service.

The theme this year was chosen by a group of Christians in Burkino Faso facilitated by the local Chemin Neuf Community: ‘You shall love the Lord your God … and your neighbour as yourself’ (Luke 10:27).

Rev Tara Curlewis (St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church of Scotland and  Reformed Churches Ecumenical Office, Rome) preached a very fine sermon.

Last year we built a cross out of olive branch cuttings, linked to ‘peace-making’. This year, with the same cross as a backdrop, we exchanged small phials of oil linked to ‘wound-healing’.

We were able to host many ecumenical guests.
