On Thursday 29 February our Gita maestro organised a 2-in-1 set of visits.
The first visit was to San Isidoro, the Franciscan College and Friary near the Piazza Barberini. Fr Micheál ofm gave us a tour and clarified for us most of Irish history in Rome. It was enormously enriching.
The second visit was to Propaganda Fide. Mgr Samuel Sangalli - a Philosophy Professor at the Beda for many years - was our host. He met us in the Conference Hall, usually used by visiting bishops. After a short talk on the history of Propaganda Fide he introduced us to all aspects of dicastery and to many of the people working there, including the Prefect and the Secretary!
We also found out that Saint John Henry Newman has close links with Propaganda Fide and we visited his chapel.
